Data confirms China inward investment fall

China drew US$59.1 billion (HK$48.3 billion) in foreign direct investment in the first six months this year, down 3 percent from the same period in 2011, the Commerce Ministry said today, confirming figures given by a vice commerce minister on Monday, Reuters reports. In June alone, China attracted US$12 billion in inward investment, down 6.9 percent from a year ago, the ministry said.
