Job expansion a top priority, says Wen
(07-17 18:04)

Top priority for the Chinese government is expanding employment, Premier Wen Jiabao said today.
"Expanding employment and improving people's livelihood are the top priority of the government,'' Wen said in a statement posted on the state council website.
Wen added that China has already developed favorable strategies to help the job market, but they have to be continuously fine tuned to fit the need. There were 98 million new positions created between 2003 and 2011, where more than 40 milion college graduates were hired, Wen said.
But he warned that employment situation will face further challenges due to changes in global markets.
