France stares at recession

The Bank of France said it expected the French economy to enter recession in the third quarter of this year with a 0.1 percent economic contraction. After a 0.1 percent contraction in the second quarter, that would mean two consecutive quarters of economic decline, the technical definition of a recession, AFP reports.
