PetroChina H1 profit slump

PetroChina (0857), the country's dominant oil and gas producer which also owns refineries, booked a net profit of 62.02 billion yuan for the six months ended June, down 6 percent from a year earlier. Earnings per share were 34 fen.
Turnovers rose 9.9 percent to 1.046 trillion yuan for the period, but increase in imported natural gas, lower sale prices of imported gas, regulatory impact and control over refined oil price in the mainland dragged profit down.
An interim dividend of 15.25 fen was declared.
