High-speed booster
By some analysts' accounts, property prices are set for a high double-digit tumble this year. Others estimate a low single-digit dip in residential property prices.

Classy living
Surrounded by sea and overlooking the exclusive Aberdeen Marina Club and the floating restaurants the area is known for, Larvotto offers luxurious living to the upper class with elegant taste.

Hot for hotels
In the first half of 2011, there were 1,161 investment transactions valued at more than HK$30 million among all property sectors, including residential, office, industrial and retail. This represented a year-on-year surge of 48 percent, while the total value of HK$88 billion marked a 46 percent rise.

Center of attention
Here's a winner at Scenic Garden in Mid-Levels West - a luxury project with broad city and Victoria Harbour views. This 1,344-square-foot rooftop flat has a bright and spacious living room with large furniture.

Visitors pay for squeeze in rooms
A drawcard for visitors from across the seas and across the border, Hong Kong is also an expensive destination. Lodging in particular, is costly - whether it be a backpacker hostel or luxury room with brandname toiletries and walk-in closets.

Galaxy quest
It's a rental show flat with a difference. The ceiling is just 1.5-meters high and the unit 18 square feet in size. But the would-be landlord proposes to charge HK$3,500 per month rent, which works out at HK$194 per square foot - more expensive than a luxury apartment in Repulse Bay.

Sea splendor
Surrounded by sea on three sides, Stanley has long been known for its low- profile luxurious dwellings. This top- floor apartment has upped the ante on luxury by an extra notch with its 1,000-square-foot terrace that is perfect for entertaining guests - who will only have the sea in their line of sight.

Core values
Strong buyer sentiment coupled with a dire lack of supply across all sectors have catapulted the local property market to stratospheric heights with the retail sector taking the lead in 2011.

Talking shops
A buoyant economy and robust retail sales driven by big-spending mainlanders created a booming commercial property market last year - shattering records in both rents and transaction prices.

Right royal views
Mid-Levels is an area marked by luxury high rises and denotes that its occupants have arrived.
