Off the beaten slope
We arrived in Soelden after heavy snows had fallen but the sky was as blue and clear as an Alpine lake. ("We" being a family of three: husband, wife and a toddler named Ryan.)

In the past five years, the number of visitors to Okinawa has risen by 292 percent - many of whom are from Hong Kong. One added incentive to go there is that Visa, which has been running tourist promotion campaigns in the main cities such as Tokyo and Osaka, has recently added Okinawa.

Jetstar Japan takes off
