On top of the world
Hong Kong has something to celebrate this summer. Twelve students from the SAR, out of the 109 students worldwide, earned perfect scores of 45 marks at this year's International Baccalaureate examination.

Find your vocation in Hong Kong
This week we will be looking specifically at vocational training options in Hong Kong. Vocational training is not necessarily non-academic, but it does prioritize preparing individuals for a particular job, skill or trade.

Other options in Hong Kong
Although Hong Kong is a great place to seek a university education, it is not necessarily the only way to further your studies.

Streetwise skills
Most tourists go to see the sights but one group of young Hongkongers went to be part of the sights. Freelance educator Pong Yat-ming recently took 11 youths on a 25-day visit to Europe to teach them how to survive without money.

Some FAQs about local universities

Staying in the SAR
Hong Kong offers a great deal of opportunity for students ready to embark on tertiary education. Aside from the territory's dozen or so universities, there are also specialist schools, including the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and further education colleges, such as Caritas Institute of Higher Education.

Plight of the panda
When some university students took to the streets of Mong Kok earlier this year to do the panda dance, it wasn't part of an orientation camp. They were promoting Panda Action 2012, a program launched by the Ocean Park Conservation Foundation Hong Kong to improve the lot of the giant panda in Asia.
