Taxi driver dies after Kai Fuk Road collision in Kowloon Bay

A 57-year-old taxi driver died after his vehicle struck a kerb on Kai Fuk Road in Kowloon Bay on Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred at about 5pm when the taxi was traveling toward Tsim Sha Tsui near Shing Yau Street. The driver lost consciousness immediately after the impact and was pronounced dead at United Christian Hospital.

The taxi showed minimal external damage. Preliminary information indicates the driver had no known chronic illnesses and had changed a tire shortly before the accident.

Police confirmed the driver had no visible injuries. The Traffic Kowloon East special investigation team is handling the case and has appealed for witnesses to call 3661 0277 with any information.
